We have to say, it’s even better in the flesh. The coupling of Mary Lundquist‘s muted illustrations with such an accessible and heart warming story makes for an endearing read.
“Cat and Bunny were born on the same day of the same month in the same year.
Right from the start they did everything together. Just the two of them.”
With what appear to be pencil and watercolour spreads of two adorable children dressed in animal costumes, what’s not to love?
We particularly love the end papers.
The story plays out among lots of white space accompanied by minimal copy, making this book a perfect text for young and emerging readers, but one that will be understood universally.
