Rosie is an inspirational lead character for young creators and engineers. Where most people see rubbish, Rosie sees a moving component of a great engine or a fundamental part to her latest invention.

Coupled with a spritely rhyming verse, this story skips along at a pace, showing Rosie in her natural habitat surround by a sea of gadgets and gizmos, creating wonderful machines.

We’ve become very excited and equally expectant of David Roberts plentiful illustrations.

The level of detail included in each square centimetre is phenomenal and there are some rather humorous ‘comic asides’ on each page.

Rosie, afraid of failure, hides her creations until one day she is visited by her great great aunt Rose who shows her that her first flop, isn’t actually a failure and is something to celebrate and develop further.

It fills us with much pleasure to see such a tenacious character who possesses a desire to succeed and a persistence to follow their dreams. One for the wish list if it’s not already on there.
