Our Picture Book Picks of 2014

Alphabetics by Patrick & Traci Concepcion, illustrated by Dawid Ryski

This is not just any Alphabet book, this is an uber stylish Alphabet book. Definitely for the design conscious reader and it’s also a great book for the younger reader, introducing a wider range of vocabulary.

Buy any of Birgitta’s work and you won’t be disappointed but this is one which touched us immensely. A totally uplifiting story, about having the courage to express yourself, one which you will return to again an again.

One of a kind, slightly surreal, short stories about each unique letter of the alphabet, accompanied by Jeffers’ iconic imagery. What’s not to love?

This lavishly illustrated trip across the continents of the world, clocking up over 30 different destinations, will undoubtedly inspire you to plan your own trip from the comfort of your own armchair.

This book is immense. The history, the heart-wrenching tale and the illustrative style all work together to make this one of our favourite books of this year.
